The events that have transpired over the last few weeks have created a sense of anger, confusion, and sadness for many. The recent death of George Floyd and the brutal racial injustice that occurred are extremely upsetting and do not reflect the values and the mission of the Arlington Boys & Girls Club, which are to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from challenging circumstances, to reach their full potential as caring, responsible, and productive citizens.

As an organization we stand against these appalling events of racial and social injustice. We recognize and stand with our families of color who may be filled with fear, resentment, and concern for their standing in society. It is imperative that action is taken to educate staff, members, board members, volunteers, and families so we can all play a role in ensuring that Black Lives Matter and will continue to matter as we move forward during these challenging times.

We remain committed to embracing inclusivity and celebrating cultural and racial diversity so as to ensure that great futures for our kids continue to start here at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club.
